October 16, 2012 – Rehabilitated barred owl successfully released back into wild at ReVenture Park™

A barred owl hit by a car in Mecklenburg County in June 2012 was rehabilitated at the Carolina Raptor Center and successfully released back into the wild today at ReVenture Park.

The release took place within the conservation easement protected by the Catawba Lands Conservancy along the banks of the Catawba River at ReVenture Park. The site was chosen because of the favorable conditions that will provide the owl the natural habitat it will need to thrive.
