Forsite Development has leased a 10,000-square-foot facility at 5046 Old Pineville Road in Charlotte to start-up Three Spirits Brewery.
Three Spirits Brewery features a window-showcased 10-barrel brewing system and English pub design accessories such as bar tap handles that resemble old gaslights adorned with top hats. The brewery is the only one in Charlotte – or perhaps the nation – owned by a former Emergency Room physician, who was ready for a career change.
Dr. Mwatabu “Tabu” Terrell started brewing beer as a hobby while in medical school residency at Indiana University. His passion for cooking, desire for stress relief, and expert training at the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago, is how Three Spirits was born.
Charlotte boasts 20 breweries as of year-end 2015, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.
Three Spirits Brewery is open 4-8 p.m. Thursday-Friday and 2-8 p.m. Saturday. Parking is available at the brewery, which is a five-minute walk from the Woodlawn light-rail station.
